Distribution Plan and Network

Distribution is a critical part of  any go-to-market plan.  If your business model extends beyond eCommerce, then your initial decision was probably to build a hybrid model that includes in-house direct sales staff as well as distribution partners (distributors, resellers, SIs, and OEMs.)

Super. The first phase of building a distribution plan is to identify relevant parameters such as, for example, regions, exclusivity, tiered structure, pricing and margins, training/education, commission planning and SPIFs, co-funding commitment and so on.

Once the initial distribution plan framework is outlined, it’s time to identify and contact distribution network candidates, negotiate contracts and train staff. They’ll need your help to generate leads and manage ongoing activity.
